Yes, we do use telephone fundraising. This type of fundraising allows us to raise money in a cost-effective way, as well as engage in thousands of conversations with supporters of Lifeline Queensland.
This form of fundraising gives more people the opportunity to ask questions about our work and discuss the different ways in which they can support Lifeline’s services here in Queensland.
We will only call you if you’ve given us consent to do so. We do not take part in ‘cold’ calling. However, if you no longer wish to receive calls from us, are unsure whether a call you’ve received is legitimate or if you’re unhappy with any aspect of a call that you have received, please contact our Supporter Experience team on 1800 961 881 or at fundraising@lifelineqld.org.au.
We work with a professional, ethical tele-fundraising agency called Clever Contacts. We are currently running a few telephone fundraising campaigns with Clever Contacts at this time.
Together, we ensure that:
- all fundraisers have intensive training and receive regular briefing sessions to ensure that they are working to best practice and to the charity’s guidelines set out by the ACNC and FIA.
- we regularly monitor and review all tele-fundraising calls to ensure we’re respecting and understanding the people we talk to.
- every agency we work with complies with the Australian Privacy Principles, as well other relevant State legislation, when dealing with your personal information.
Our professional tele-fundraisers are paid to fundraise on our behalf. However, 100% of all donations given in support of Lifeline Queensland are used to develop and run Lifeline’s vital support and suicide prevention services. Our fundraising costs are covered by UnitingCare services in Queensland that have fees associated with them, and investments like any other business.
Our fundraisers and our partners at Clever Contacts are required to follow rules set out by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and are members of the Fundraising Institute of Australia. We want to make sure you feel informed and empowered with the way you choose to give and never feel pressured to give if you are unable to. We want everyone’s experience with Lifeline Queensland to be the best possible experience while we raise funds for life-saving services.
